Good Stuff

July 12, 2009 — Well this past Saturday (yesterday) went about as I had expected. I was able to sit with my kids and relate to them what all is going on with me. They were attentive and let me know how they feel about it all...at least for now.

It was a learning experience for me. It was pointed out to me how preconceived ideas or notions can sometimes be so damaging to a relationship a father has with his children and other family members. How in 30 secs or less one can tear down something that would take a lot longer to build back up. I learned again how important it is not to be exclusive but inclusive in matters of family. Wanda's children were here also and while they could not be here when the heavy discussion took place, they did come and share and all of us learned from this time. I have much to work on in my relationship with others, but I know I can do what is necessary to be a better Dad for my kids and partner to Wanda and her kids. This is not just about me...it is about all of us.

That's what really matters!
