Miss MollyB

July 20, 2009 — MollyB has been having an intestinal upset over the past two days. She was being treated for bacterial diarrhea when Wanda and I got her and I certainly have seen why. I'm not sure what is going on with her, but I contacted the Golden Ribbon Rescue (GRR) folks about her since she is still officially in foster status. They all agreed that a trip to the vet is warranted and we will do that today.

Through it all MollyB has remained perky. We are working on a number of issues with her like not chasing Boots our cat. Boots has gotten over being pissy about the whole situation as we knew he would. He now walks by MollyB quite easily and pays her little attention. He is just a cat that knows what he wants...that being he shows everyone around that he owns the house. We've known all along that if we just basically leave them alone, except for no chasing, the two of them will work things out. That is well on its way to being a reality.

MollyB's other bad habit is jumping up on people she has not been around before. She is very friendly and greets everyone. She gets scolded every time she does the jumping and as smart as she is it will not be long before that will be an issue of the past.

All-in-all we are glad she has come into our family. GRR's rules are that a dog must be in foster care for a minimum of 14 days before they can be adopted. This is so they can be evaluated for temperament, etc. It's a good policy...so we have 10 days or so before we can adopt her. She is really a happy little girl and we are growing an attachment to her. Personally I think she is a great dog. I look forward to having her as my companion and one that depends on me for her care. It's what really matters!
