July 15, 2009 — We all know Rome was not built in a day. We don't remodel a home in a day and there are so many other things that are not accomplished in a days time. Well the same can be said for giving up cigarettes. Yesterday, as you should know if you have been reading this dribble I produce everyday now, I put on the patch. What kind of success did I have you may ask? Well I went from almost three packs a day to less than half a pack. I think that is a good start.
I am reminded that the changes I am making in my life style do not occur overnight. It takes time and again that ol' patience thingee comes into play. We all go at different speeds. That is what makes the world go round or is because of gravity and the pull of the sun and our moon. Who knows...I am not a rocket scientist.
What I do know is that if I give this the best effort I have in me I will be successful. Hell I certainly have the time being retarded...oops I mean retired and all. So keeping busy is important and when I did that yesterday I had great success.
I am also receiving encouragement from family and friends and so far the nay sayers have stayed away. You know the ones I mean...those that wait for you to fail and seem to bask in that fact. They are only hiding their own inabilities to do something like this.
So enough of this being prolific...oops there I go again...I mean enough of this being profound. This is a journey that will take awhile and I must not be in a hurry. All good things come with time and it's what really matters!
